In the field of innovative teaching, HOC-LAB has created projects and services using technologies ranging from collaborative 3D worlds to digital storytelling, from educational chatbots to students’ response systems.

HOC-LAB is the scientific responsible of two masters at Politecnico di Milano: DOL (online master for experts in the use of technologies in education) and MIDIS , in cooperation with the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano, on digital innovation at school.

HOC-LAB manages large-scale services for schools (in Italian language): PoliCultura, a collaborative digital storytelling competition for schools, from 2006; PoliCollege, online courses for high school students, on STEM subjects; PoliTeaching , a blog of educational tips for distance education; PoliLab-Kids, animations on STEM subjects for primary schools.

HOC-LAB deployed, in 2012, the first MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) for teachers in Italy, on digital publishing. Each year it runs a MOOC on digital storytelling in education, attended by hundreds of teachers.
